Sheriff Craig Webre reported the arrest of Ronald L. Joseph (B/M, DOB 11/22/52) of Raceland on charges of molesting a juvenile and contempt of court.
On September 27, 2011 at 10:37 P.M., Detectives responded to the Lockport Criminal Operations Center in reference to a possible Molestation of a Juvenile. During the course of the investigation, the juvenile victim disclosed to Investigators that Joseph had touched the victim in an inappropriate manner on several occasions, including this past weekend.
Detectives then interviewed Joseph who denied touching the victim. While conducting a background check on Joseph, it was discovered that Joseph had two active warrants stemming from Contempt of Court charges. The background check further revealed a previous conviction for sexual battery.
Joseph was placed under arrest for one count of Molestation of a Juvenile and two counts of Contempt of Court stemming from the active warrants. Joseph was transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center and is remains there in lieu of $105,000 bond as set by Judge Jerome J. Barbera. Information concerning the victim is being withheld due to the victims age and the nature of the offense.
