Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre reported additional theft charges were filed against the two suspects from Tuesdays shipyard burglary. Jardon Lirette (W/M, D.O.B. 08/30/91) of 111 Mathilde Lane, and Jesse Bergeron (W/M, D.O.B. 07/19/89) of 308 Lydia Street, both of Gray, La., are now also facing Felony Theft charges after detectives linked them to an incident of theft on December 8, 2011 at a Thibodaux shipyard through investigation. Lirette and Bergeron had previously been charged with Simple Burglary, Aggravated Flight from an Officer (Intentional Refusal to Stop/Life Endangerment), and Felony Simple Criminal Damage to Property after stealing welding leads from a Lockport shipyard Tuesday and leading deputies in a pursuit that ended when the suspects crashed into a Lockport museum.
In both instances, detectives say, welding leads were stolen from the shipyards. In the December 8 incident in Thibodaux, welding leads with a total value of around $2,000.00 were stolen. Lirette and Bergeron are both still currently being held at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux. Bergerons bond now stands at $26,000.00, and Lirette now remains in lieu of $21,000.00 bond.
