Detectives Seeking Information on Beating of Lockport Man in January

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre is asking for the public’s assistance in helping to locate the person or persons responsible for the severe beating of a Lockport man last month. Detectives believe the incident occurred at or near James Lounge in Raceland.

Shortly after 1:30 A.M. on Sunday, January 22, 2012, deputies traveling on LA Highway 308 in the Mathews area observed a male subject standing partially in the roadway next to a pickup truck. The man appeared to be severely beaten. Acadian Ambulance arrived to assist and transported the man to a local hospital for treatment. He was eventually transferred to a hospital in New Orleans for further treatment. Among his injuries, he suffered several facial fractures and some of his teeth had been knocked out.

Through investigation, detectives learned the man had been at James’ Lounge and got into a fight either inside or near the establishment before driving away. It is unknown whether one other person or several persons were involved in the fight. Detectives are now seeking help from the public in an attempt to identify the other subject(s) involved. Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact Bayou Region Crime Stoppers at 1-800-743-7433 or by texting “GIVEATIP” plus your message to 274637. Information can also be submitted online at http://www.crimestoppersbr.org or by using the TipSubmit Mobile application on your iPhone or Android device. Tipsters can remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward up to $1,000.00 in cash if the information given leads to an arrest.
