Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced an anonymous tip helped lead to the arrest of a Galliano fugitive who had been hiding at his sons residence in Lockport. Deputies located and arrested Brian Paul Martin (W/M, D.O.B. 10/09/66) of 128 W. 163rd Street in Galliano at the residence of his son, Justin Martin (W/M, D.O.B. 03/15/94) of 8874 Highway 308 in Lockport. Deputies also arrested Justin Martin and another subject, Jude Orgeron (W/M, D.O.B. 09/17/93) of 334 Myrtle Drive in Lockport, for harboring a fugitive. The Lafourche Parish Sheriffs Office had issued information concerning Martins arrest warrant through a Fugitive Alert sent to the media on July 19, 2012.
The Sheriffs Office recently received an anonymous tip that Brian Martin was staying at the residence of his son, Justin Martin, in Lockport. Deputies responded to Justin Martins residence on two occasions and did not locate Brian Martin inside the residence. On both occasions, deputies made contact with Justin Martin and another subject, Jude Orgeron, and cautioned both men that they could be arrested if they were found to be harboring a fugitive. Then on a third visit to Justin Martins residence Tuesday evening, deputies again made contact with Justin Martin and Orgeron outside the residence. This time, Justin Martin again gave deputies permission to search the home and indicated Brian Martin was inside. Deputies entered the home, located Brian Martin and arrested him without incident. Due to knowingly harboring a fugitive, Justin Martin and Orgeron were also arrested.
During a search of Justin Martins person, deputies located a small pouch of suspected synthetic marijuana and a smoking pipe. When asked if he had any other contraband, Justin Martin told deputies he had marijuana in his car. Agents then located a small amount of suspected marijuana and another smoking pipe inside the vehicle. All three arrested subjects were then transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux for booking.
Brian Martin was booked as per the warrant with felony unauthorized use of an access card and is being held in lieu of $50,000 bond. Both Justin Martin and Orgeron were booked with accessory after the fact (harboring a fugitive). Orgeron is currently being held in lieu of $5,000 bond. Justin Martin was additionally booked with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, and he is being held in lieu of $6,250 bond.
