Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre reported the arrest of two Houma brothers for the rape of a woman in August 2012. Jason Lynn Smalls (B/M, D.O.B. 12/19/77) of 130 St. Louis Street and Gary Smalls (B/M, D.O.B. 10/07/80) of 3607 B Thomas Drive are charged with aggravated rape and second degree kidnapping in the incident.

Through investigation, detectives learned that on Sunday, August 19, the two men took a female victim against her will to the Raceland area where the rape occurred. She was kept against her will until the following day when one of the men dropped her off near her home. Following an investigation into the matter, detectives obtained warrants for the arrest of both Smalls men.

On Wednesday, September 12, LPSO detectives coordinated with detectives from the Houma Police Department and the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office to execute the arrest warrants, and both subjects were apprehended without incident and transported to the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex. Gary Smalls was also arrested on a warrant in Terrebonne Parish for failure to register as a sex offender. The bond amounts for each man will be set at $600,000 each for the aggravated rape and kidnapping charges.
