Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced the business offices of the Lafourche Parish Sheriffs Office shall be closed on Monday, December 24 and Tuesday, December 25 in observance of the Christmas holiday. The offices will also be closed on Monday, December 31 and Tuesday, January 1 in observance of the New Year holiday. These closures are in accordance with the 17th Judicial District Court closures on those days.
From our Lafourche Parish Sheriffs Office family to yours, I would like to wish each and every one a very merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous new year, said Sheriff Webre. We encourage everyone to enjoy the time with their families, and please keep in mind the dedicated law enforcement agencies working throughout the holidays in an effort to keep our communities and highways safe.
Residents are reminded that property taxes are due by December 31, 2012. Due to business offices being closed on that date, the final day to pay taxes in person at an LPSO office in 2012 is Friday, December 28. Payments can be made at either the Administrative Office at 200 Canal Boulevard in Thibodaux or at the South Lafourche Sub-station located at 102 West 91st Street in Galliano. Taxes that remain unpaid by December 31, 2012, become delinquent, but residents can, however, continue to make payments interest-free until January 31, 2013 due to the grace period instituted by Sheriff Webre. For more information about property tax payments, call the LPSO Administrative Office at (985) 449-4430 or 4431 or the South Lafourche Sub-station at (985) 798-2255.
