At around 8 p.m. on Friday, February 9, deputies responded to a call of a shooting on Paula Drive in Thibodaux. Upon arrival, deputies learned Donovan Queen (B/M, D.O.B. 03-17-93) had been arguing with a woman at the residence when he allegedly grabbed her by the neck and struck her twice in the face with his fist. Another male at the residence forced Queen outside of the home telling him to leave and not return. The female victim appeared in the doorway of the residence, and Queen allegedly pulled out a gun and shot at the female, striking her once in the right foot and striking the residence twice. Detectives learned Queen then re-entered the residence and located the victim inside. He then allegedly pointed the gun at her and pulled the trigger, but the weapon reportedly misfired. Queen then ran out of the residence and fled the scene on foot. The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where she was treated and subsequently released. Detectives obtained warrants for Queens arrest, and he subsequently turned himself in on Monday. Queen, of 416 Champion Street in Gray, was booked as per warrants on charges of attempted second degree murder, second degree battery, aggravated criminal damage to property, and aggravated burglary. He is currently being held at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux in lieu of $505,000 bond as set by Judge Jerome J. Barbera III.
At approximately 3:15 a.m. on Tuesday, January 29, deputies responded to a call that someone was trying to break into a car located along Winder Road in Thibodaux. Upon arrival, deputies located the suspects vehicle, but before a traffic stop could be initiated, the vehicle sped away from deputies. Moments later, the suspects vehicle was found flipped on its side in a swimming pool at a residence on Pamela Street. Deputies also found crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle, and a witness said the driver fled the crash scene on foot. While searching the area for the suspect, deputies learned a pickup truck had been stolen in close proximity to where the suspects car was found.
