Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre is inviting the public to join the Lafourche Parish Sheriffs Office and over 40 other law enforcement and public service agencies at the Third Annual Bayou Region Public Safety Expo being held this Saturday, April 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at John L. Guidry Stadium on the campus of Nicholls State University.
Admission to this event is FREE to the public, and there will be information and demonstrations for all ages. The Lafourche Parish Sheriffs Office will display many high-tech tools used on a daily basis in keeping the citizens of Lafourche Parish safe.
Citizens can get a first-hand look at the new LPSO Crime Scene Unit which features state-of-the-art equipment detectives use during crime scene investigations. Boaters and fishermen may enjoy getting an up-close look at one of the vessels used by our Water Patrol. Well also have several patrol units on display including a car, motorcycle, and bicycles. Well also have D.A.R.E. officers present with information for children and parents alike. Explorers will be on hand providing identification cards for children.
Many other agencies will be on hand displaying helicopters, tactical equipment, motorcycles, patrol units, ambulances, fire trucks and much more. Other activities at the expo include, but are not limited to, a blood drive, health screenings, K-9 demonstrations, equipment demonstrations, safety demonstrations, interactive training tools, and child safety seat inspections.
