Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre reported the arrest of two Raceland man responsible several vehicle burglaries on Plaisance Drive early Tuesday morning. Todd Lucas Jr. (W/M, D.O.B. 03/03/93) of 188 St. Ann Street and Vincent Gauthreaux (W/M, D.O.B. 01/16/93) of 148 Plaisance Drive both confessed to their roles in the crimes.
Through investigation, deputies learned several car burglaries had occurred on Plaisance Drive during the early morning hours of Tuesday, September 24. In one of the burglaries, a debit card had been stolen and later used at a nearby convenience store. Through further investigation, deputies were able to develop Gauthreaux as the suspect who used the card and made contact with him at his residence. They also learned Lucas, who was staying with Gauthreaux, had committed the actual burglaries. At Gauthreauxs residence, deputies recovered several items which had been reported stolen including several electronic devices and various other items of value. During questioning, Gauthreaux admitted to knowing about the stolen items and using the stolen debit card. Lucas also admitted to burglarizing several vehicles as well as using the debit card himself.
Both Lucas and Gauthreaux were placed under arrest and transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux. Lucas was booked with eight (8) counts of Simple Burglary of a Motor Vehicle and Unauthorized Use of an Access Card, and he was also booked on an outstanding warrant for Contempt of Court. He is being held in lieu of $41,000 bond as set by Judge Ashly Bruce Simpson, and he is also being held for Louisiana Probation and Parole. Gauthreaux, meanwhile, was booked with eight (8) counts of Accessory after the Fact to Simple Burglary and Unauthorized Use of an Access Card. He is being held in lieu of $5,000 bond as set by Judge Simpson.
