Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre is asking for the public’s assistance in helping detectives solve an armed robbery which occurred at a Thibodaux Casino on Friday.
At around 2 a.m. on Friday, December 13, detectives responded to a call of an armed robbery at the Jungle Casino in Thibodaux. Through investigation, detectives learned an unidentified male subject arrived in a black pickup truck and entered the casino through the front entrance. He was wearing a black jacket, khaki pants, black gloves and a ski mask, and he was armed with a semi-automatic handgun. The subject disarmed the security guard inside the casino, and made entry into the bar area. The subject then proceeded back into the casino and attempted to make entry into the cashier’s booth, but he was unsuccessful. The subject then left the casino with the security guard’s revolver and fled the scene in the black truck. Surveillance cameras captured footage of the subject during the incident.
Patrol deputies later located the subject’s truck in a ditch along Robichaux Road, and the truck was found to have been reported stolen earlier that night. Upon searching the vehicle, deputies located a black ski mask believed to have been used in the robbery. Detectives also learned valuable items were missing from the truck’s interior, including a laptop computer.
