Woman Caught Driving Drunk under Suspension from a Previous DWI

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre reported a Houma woman was arrested for her third DWI offense on Wednesday night. Deputies caught Sherry Mobley (W/F, D.O.B. 08/03/67) of 500 Oak Street driving intoxicated and under suspension from a previous DWI charge.

At around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, deputies traveling southbound along LA Highway 1 in Cut Off noticed a pickup truck swerving from the southbound to the northbound lane and initiated a traffic stop in the area of West 112th Street. Deputies made contact with the driver and identified her as Sherry Mobley. Deputies immediately noticed a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on Mobley’s breath, and she was showing signs of possible intoxication. Deputies discovered Mobley’s license was currently suspended due to a previous DWI charge. Deputies then performed a Standardized Field Sobriety Test on which she performed poorly. She later submitted to a breathalyzer test which showed her to have a blood alcohol level of 0.142g%.

Mobley was found to have been arrested for DWI charges in 2009 and 2012 in Terrebonne Parish. She was transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux and booked with DWI (3rd offense), driving under suspension and improper lane usage. She is currently being held in lieu of $55,100 bond as set by Judge Walter I. Lanier III.
