Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced a reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for shooting a Thibodaux family’s pet dog while they were away for the weekend.
On Monday, November 10, deputies responded to a residence in the 300 block of Cedar Tree Drive after learning a family had found their pet dog deceased from an apparent gunshot wound after returning from a weekend trip. Deputies responded to the scene and learned relatives of the family had made the discovery at around 9:00 a.m. on Monday morning. Detectives began investigating the incident and learned three unknown male subjects believed to be around 13 years of age were seen riding a camouflage-colored, all-terrain vehicle in the area. These individuals are considered persons of interest in the crime.
Detectives are asking for the public’s help in solving this crime which occurred sometime between 4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7 and 9:00 a.m. on Monday, November 10.
