Thibodaux Drug Dealer Arrested on Multiple Outstanding Warrants

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre reported the arrest of a low- to mid-level drug dealer following a traffic stop in Thibodaux. Narcotics agents arrested Jordy Smith (29, W/M) of Thibodaux on multiple outstanding warrants.
 
Agents of the Lafourche Parish Drug Task Force traveling in the Thibodaux area initiated a traffic stop after a man driving a black car crossed the center line twice. Agents were familiar with the driver, and identified him as Jordy Smith who had several outstanding warrants for his arrest stemming from prior Task Force investigations. Smith was holding a lit suspected marijuana cigarette at the time of the stop and was also found to have a small amount of MDMA in his possession, as well as various drug paraphernalia.
 
Smith was placed under arrest and transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux. He was booked on outstanding warrants for three (3) counts of Distribution of Methamphetamine, Illegal Use of a Controlled Dangerous Substance in the Presence of Persons under 17 Years Old, Reckless Operation, Resisting an Officer, and Criminal Mischief. He was additionally charged with Possession of Marijuana (1st Offense), MDMA and Drug Paraphernalia, as well as improper lane usage. He is being held in lieu of $107,400 bond as set by Judge F. Hugh Larose and the warrants.
