At around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 26, deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a pickup truck along LA Highway 182 in Raceland, but the driver of the vehicle refused to stop. The driver fled on foot, but deputies pursued him and eventually utilized a Taser. He was taken into custody without further incident. The driver was identified as Jaire Folse of Raceland, and he was found to marijuana and crack cocaine in several small bags commonly associated with the distribution of narcotics. Folse was also found to be driving without a valid license.

Folse was transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center where he was booked with Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana and Crack Cocaine, Aggravated Flight from an Officer, Resisting an Officer, no driver’s license and improper lane usage. He is being held in lieu of $52,050 bond as set by Judge John E. Leblanc.
