ALLEN CUEVAS JR.:
At around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, deputies responded to the Department of Children and Family Services office on Tiger Drive in reference to an employee receiving a threatening text message. Through investigation, deputies learned the department had taken custody of a child whose birth mother is a close friend of Allen Cuevas Jr. (36, W/M) of Galliano. They also learned the mother had a dispute with a department employee earlier that day, and that the employee later received a text message from Cuevas. In the message, Cuevas threatened the employee and her family. Following the investigation, deputies then located Cuevas at his Galliano residence, and he was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center where he was booked with Assault on a Child Welfare Worker. He was released after posting $5,000 bond as set by Judge F. Hugh Larose.
At around 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, deputies initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on Dantin Street in Raceland. Deputies made contact with the driver and identified her as Sharon Bentley (45, W/F) of Des Allemands. Bentley told deputies she did not have a valid driver’s license, and deputies noticed the odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath. Bentley submitted to a field sobriety test but performed poorly. She later submitted to a breathalyzer test which found her to have a blood alcohol content of .094g%. Bentley admitted to have consumed alcoholic beverages, and deputies confirmed her to have no valid driver’s license. They also discovered she had previously been convicted of DWI (3rd Offense). Bentley was arrested and transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center where she was booked with DWI (4th Offense), driving without a license, and failure to use a turn signal. She is currently being held in lieu of $30,200 bond as set by Judge Larose.
