Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced the arrest of a Thibodaux man after deputies found him in possession of a variety of narcotics. Dillon Fields (23, W/M) was arrested Friday after deputies found him parked along LA Highway 1 in Raceland.

Just before 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, deputies responded to a call of a subject sitting inside a vehicle parked along LA Highway 1 in Raceland and possibly not breathing. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the driver who was breathing, but appeared to be extremely disoriented. They identified the driver as Dillon Fields of Thibodaux, and deputies observed a bag containing suspected cocaine on the front seat. Deputies also discovered Fields to be in possession of several small bags containing suspected cocaine and suspected heroin. Field tests confirmed the presence of those substances in the bags.  They also discovered Fields to be in possession of alprazolam and hydrocodone pills, as well as drug paraphernalia. In all, deputies seized the following amounts of narcotics from Fields: approximately two (2) grams of heroin, approximately 0.3 grams of cocaine, approximately 1.4 grams of cocaine and heroin mixed, over 9.25 doses of alprazolam, and one (1) hydrocodone pill.

Fields was arrested and transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center where he was booked with Possession with the Intent to Distribute Heroin, Cocaine and Alprazolam, as well as Possession of Hydrocodone and Drug Paraphernalia. He was released Sunday afternoon after posting $33,000 bond as had been set by Judge John E. Leblanc.
