Detectives Seeking Man for Convenience Store Theft

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced a reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of a man who stole alcoholic beverages from a Mathews convenience store last week. At around 6:30 p.m. on Monday, August 10, deputies responded to the store on LA Highway 308 in Mathews and learned an unidentified male subject had entered the store about 20 minutes prior and left with four bottles containing alcoholic beverages without paying for them. A store employee attempted to make contact with the man, but he fled the scene in a white Dodge Charger. Detectives began an investigation and eventually obtained surveillance footage of the suspect. Anyone with information on this crime is asked to contact Crime Stoppers Bayou Region at 1-800-743-7433 or by texting “GIVEATIP” plus your message to 274637.
