Detectives Investigating Christmas Day Burglary

Sheriff Craig Webre announced a reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons wanted in connection to a residential burglary which occurred on Christmas Day. Through investigation, detectives learned a residence in the 200 block of Bayou Crossing Drive in Mathews was burglarized on December 25, 2015, in the late afternoon. Detectives learned the burglary occurred sometime between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. while the residents were away from the home. Prescription medications and a safe box were taken from the residence. The safe box contained cash and important documents. A white male subject, believed to be in his late teens or early 20s, was spotted walking near the home around the time of the burglary carrying a safe box. The suspect was later picked up from the area by another male subject driving a blue Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. Surveillance cameras captured images of both individuals.
