Woman Beaten and Held against Her Will for Over 20 Hours by Thibodaux Man

Sheriff Craig Webre announced the arrest of Jamie Scarbrough (age 49) of Thibodaux on Tuesday, February 2. At around 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, deputies responded to a Thibodaux residence in reference to a report that a woman had been beaten and held against her will by a man with which she previously had a relationship. Through investigation, deputies learned the woman had arrived home for lunch on Monday, February 1, when she discovered Scarbrough standing outside the residence. Scarbrough allegedly entered the residence and held the woman inside the residence against her will throughout the night while armed with a knife. On Tuesday morning, the woman attempted to flee the residence, but Scarbrough caught up to her and allegedly struck her several times on the face and body. She eventually separated herself from him, and she was finally able to exit the residence and call for help. Deputies made contact with Scarbrough by phone, and he eventually agreed to surrender. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux where he was booked with Felony Domestic Abuse Battery and False Imprisonment – Offender Armed with a Dangerous Weapon. Bond was set at 60,000, and he is also being held for Louisiana Probation and Parole.
