Raceland Fugitive Apprehended Saturday, Faces Additional Charges

Sheriff Craig Webre reported the arrest of Cordale Richard (age 24) of Raceland on Saturday, April 16. Deputies responded to a disturbance at a residence on St. Ann Street in Raceland on Saturday night. Deputies also learned one of the parties involved was Cordale Richard who had several outstanding warrants stemming from multiple incidents. As deputies arrived at the residence, Richard exited the back door, but deputies were waiting behind the residence and took him into custody. As deputies attempted to place Richard in the rear of a patrol unit, Richard began resisting violently, and fighting with the deputies. He was eventually placed into the unit and transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux where he was booked on the aforementioned warrants for three counts of Contempt of Court, two counts of Simple Battery, Purse Snatching (with Force), and Entering/Remaining after Being Forbidden.  He was additionally charged with Resisting Arrest with Force or Violence and Battery of a Police Officer. His bond is set at $14,300, and he also owes $902.50 in fines and costs per the contempt warrants.
