Sisters Arrested for Stealing Money from Casino at Which They Were Employed

Sheriff Craig Webre announced two sisters have been arrested in connection to theft from a casino in Gray. Marla Leblanc (age 56) of Chauvin and Shana Ledet (age 53) of Montegut were arrested following an investigation.

On Monday, May 9, detectives opened an investigation after a casino manager found employees were stealing money. Through investigation, detectives learned Ledet and Leblanc were altering paperwork, and detectives found thousands of dollars had been stolen. On Wednesday, May 11, detectives met with Ledet and Leblanc, and both women admitted to stealing thousands of dollars over time. Each was placed under arrest for Felony Theft and booked at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux. Ledet and Leblanc were released after 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday after each posted $10,000 bond.

Detectives indicated their investigation into this case is continuing.
