Two Men in Custody for Robbing a Larose Man and Burglarizing His Home

Sheriff Craig Webre announced the arrest of two men who robbed a Larose man at gunpoint then burglarized his home. Lionelle Cheramie (age 27) of Larose and Brad Williams (age 27) of Galliano were arrested shortly after the incident.

At around 10:15 p.m. on Sunday, deputies made contact with a man who claimed to have just been robbed by Cheramie and Williams. Through investigation, deputies learned the victim was at his Larose residence when Cheramie arrived and started an altercation. Williams, who had accompanied Cheramie to the residence, pulled out a pistol, later determined to be an airsoft pistol, and Cheramie stole the victim’s cell phone from his hands. The victim attempted to flee the area, but Cheramie and Williams followed him in a vehicle, eventually catching up to him. At that point, they allegedly struck the victim in the head with the pistol. Deputies proceeded to the residence and discovered Cheramie and Williams to still be present. Neither cooperated in the investigation and were placed under arrest. Inside Cheramie’s car, deputies discovered an airsoft pistol, suspected methamphetamine, suspected Xanax, and several items identified as having been stolen from the residence.

Both Cheramie and Williams were charged with First Degree Robbery and Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling. Cheramie was additionally charged with Possession of Xanax and Methamphetamine. Williams’ bond was set at $10,000. Cheramie’s bond was set at $25,000, but he is also being held for Louisiana Probation and Parole.
