Sheriff Craig Webre reported the arrest of Lacie Cheramie (age 34) of Larose on Friday, August 19. Deputies responded to a complaint in Larose on Friday in reference to Lacie Cheramie allegedly stealing checks from a relative. Upon arrival and through investigation, deputies learned Cheramie also had used the victim’s credit card three weeks prior and made over $1,000 in unauthorized charges before giving the card back to the victim. After questioning, Cheramie was placed under arrest and transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux. She was booked with seven (7) counts of Forgery, Unauthorized Use of an Access Card as Theft, and Misdemeanor Theft. Her bond is set at $11,000.
