Thibodaux Brothers Charged in Weekend House Burglary

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced the arrest of Austin Tardo (age 21) and Mark Tardo (age 23), both of Thibodaux. On Sunday evening, October 29, deputies responded to a residence in the 400 block of Rue De Cypress in Thibodaux in reference to a burglary. Deputies found the rear door to the residence was forced open, and they learned jewelry, two firearms, and several tools had been stolen. Through investigation, detectives obtained a description of two suspects and a suspect vehicle, and developed Mark and Austin Tardo as the suspects. Patrol deputies then made contact with the Tardos on Bobcat Lane in Thibodaux, and they were found to have stolen property from the burglary in their possession, as well as a drug only available by prescription and drug paraphernalia. The Tardos were both charged with Simple Burglary, Possession of a Legend Drug without a Prescription, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Austin Tardo’s bond is set at $55,500. Mark Tardo was additionally booked on an outstanding warrant for Contempt of Court for Thibodaux City Court, and his bond is set at $56,500.
