Money Stolen in Two Separate Incidents at a Raceland Casino

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced a reward is being offered for information leading to arrests in separate incidents wherein cash was stolen from a Raceland casino on U.S. Highway 90.

The first incident occurred last week on Friday, November 24. Through investigation, detectives learned an unidentified male subject had been gambling inside the casino for some time. At one point, the man approached the cashier’s counter, distracted the cashier, and stole a wallet-style money bag from behind the counter and immediately left the store. The incident was captured on surveillance video. Detectives have determined the man was driving a white SUV, believed to be a 2000-2006 Chevrolet Tahoe. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5’9” tall with a beard.

As that investigation was continuing, a second incident occurred on the evening of Wednesday, November 29. An unidentified male subject entered the casino and walked into the restroom. Through investigation, detectives learned he climbed through the ceiling in the restroom and climbed down over a partition wall. He then crawled into the casino office, stole cash, and exited the casino. He then fled the scene in a pickup truck, believed to be a blue 2000 Nissan Frontier, heading east on U.S. Highway 90. The suspect is believed to be approximately 5’8” to 5’10” tall with a short-haired beard.

Anyone who can identify either suspect, or anyone with any information on these crimes, is asked to submit a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers Bayou Region by phone at 1-800-743-7433 or online at www.crimestoppersbr.org. Tips can also be submitted using the P3 Tips app on your mobile device. Tipsters could be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 in cash if the information leads to an arrest.
