Deputies Find Georgia Fugitive in Possession of a Variety of Narcotics

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced the arrest of Elijah Jackson Jr. (age 49) on Thursday, January 18. At around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, deputies initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling along LA Highway 316 in Bayou Blue. Deputies made contact with the driver who initially gave a false name and date of birth. Deputies noticed the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. While speaking to the driver, deputies discovered he had given a false identity, and learned his true identity was actually Elijah Jackson Jr, and they learned he had active warrants for Terrebonne Parish and Gwinnett County in Georgia. Jackson was found to be in possession of small amounts of suspected marijuana, cocaine, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin, and several types of pills, as well as counterfeit bills. He was arrested and transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux. He was booked with Possession of Marijuana (3rd and Subsequent Offenses), as well as Possession of Cocaine, Crack Cocaine, Methamphetamine, Diazepam, Alprazolam, and drug paraphernalia. He was also charged with Monetary Instrument Abuse, Resisting an Officer, no driver’s license, improper lane usage. His bond on the Lafourche Parish charges is set at $51,500. He is also being held on a Felony Forgery warrant from Gwinnett County, Georgia, as well as warrants for drug possession in Terrebonne Parish.
