Raceland Man Sought for Attempted Murder in Sunday Shooting

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced a Raceland man is being sought following a shooting early Sunday morning. Daniodran Gabriel, 24, is wanted for attempted murder in the incident.

At around 2 a.m. on Sunday, January 13, deputies responded to a call of a shooting on Ayo Street in Raceland. Deputies learned a man in his 30s had been shot in the leg. The victim was transported to University Medical Center in New Orleans for treatment.

Through investigation, detectives developed Gabriel as a suspect in the shooting. Detectives learned Gabriel and the victim were engaged in an argument when Gabriel allegedly pulled out a gun and fired a round, striking the victim in his left knee.

Detectives have obtained a warrant for Gabriel’s arrest on the charge of Attempted Second Degree Murder. He is described as a black male, approximately 6’2” tall and weighing approximately 140 pounds. His last known address was on St. Louis Street in Raceland.
