Detectives Investigating Shooting Death of a Male Teenager in Larose

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced detectives are currently investigating the shooting death of a 15-year-old male from Larose. Detectives said 15-year-old Braxton Bourda (B/M, D.O.B. 09/02/98), a student at South Lafourche High School, was pronounced dead at the scene.
               
At around 2:45 p.m., deputies and detectives responded to a call of a shooting in the 100 block of East 23rd Street. Upon arrival, investigators discovered Bourda lying at the roadside. Witnesses saw multiple subjects drag Bourda from the center of the street to the roadside, and the subjects then walked toward the back of East 23rd Street. Detectives said Bourda appeared to have died from a gunshot wound to the face.  
 
Detectives are currently questioning witnesses and are searching for a person of interest who may have been involved in the shooting. Anyone with information on this shooting is asked to contact Crime Stoppers Bayou Region. Tipsters can remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward up to $1,000 in cash if the information given leads to an arrest.
