About Our Agency

The Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office employs around 350 deputies as well as 90 reserve deputies (volunteers).

Raising the Bar
In 2000, under the leadership of Sheriff Craig Webre, the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office became one of only a handful of sheriff’s offices in the state of Louisiana to achieve National Accreditation under the watchful eye of the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies or CALEA. The agency has maintained that distinction by achieving reaccreditation in 2003, 2006, 2009 and most recently in 2012. Sheriff Webre also serves as a CALEA Commissioner.

The LPSO Transitional Work Program also maintains National Accreditation by the American Correctional Association.
