 David Bland:
On Thursday, July 28th shortly before 11:00 AM deputies responded to a domestic disturbance on Brocato Lane in Raceland. Upon arrival, deputies observed David Bland (B/M, DOB 1/8/1971, 236 Brocato Lane, Raceland) attempting to assist a 50-year old woman inside a home at 240 Brocato. The woman had a large cut on her head. Bland told deputies the cut had occurred after the woman fell, but an investigation led deputies to believe Bland had inflicted the cut after he punched and pulled the woman from a vehicle. Bland was arrested without incident and charged with 2nd degree battery by domestic abuse (R.S. 14:34.1). Judge John Leblanc set bond at $20,000. Probation and parole also placed a hold on Bland.
Carl Jones:
On Thursday, July 28th around 8:00 AM as correctional officers continued processing Carl Jones (B/M, DOB 10/14/1985, 475 Frederick Drive, Thibodaux) from a drug arrest the night before, they discovered counterfeit bills among his belongings. The two, phony twenty-dollar bills were off-color and had the same serial numbers. They also did not pass a counterfeit pen test. The bills were removed from Jones’ property and entered into evidence. Jones now also faces a charge of monetary instrument abuse (R.S. 14:34.1) and remains in the Lafourche Parish Detention Center.
