Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced the results of a DWI checkpoint held in on LA Highway 20 in Thibodaux, just south of its intersection with LA Highway 304. The checkpoint began on Wednesday, July 4 at 10 p.m. and ended at 2 a.m. on July 5. During those four hours, deputies checked a total of 198 vehicles, made one arrest and issued four citations.
Three drivers were charged with DWI during the checkpoint:
• Nicole Folse (W/F, D.O.B. 08/14/88) of Vacherie, La.
• Michael E. Joly (W/M, D.O.B. 08/24/59) of Kenner, La.
• Shalee M. Dufren (W/F, D.O.B. 09/03/82) of Thibodaux, La.
Deputies also cited a driver for improper lane usage and no driver’s license, and another driver was cited for having an open container of alcohol.
