Glenn Burrell & Tonya Duncan: Around 12:30 PM on Saturday, July 17th deputies went to the Marydale neighborhood in Thibodaux searching for a wanted subject. As deputies made their way onto Ridgeway Court, Glenn Burrell (B/M, DOB 7/24/1960, 216 Ridgeway Court, Thibodaux) exited his home and began cursing at officers. Burrell continued to curse, raising his fist at one deputy who drew his Taser. Tonya Duncan (B/F, DOB 5/8/1974, 216 Ridgeway Court, Thibodaux) came up and pushed the officer then placed her hand on the deputy’s service weapon. The deputy was able to distance himself from Duncan but as he approached Burrell, Burrell again tried to attack and the deputy discharged his taser. Duncan then charged the deputy and was taken into custody. As two deputies attempted to restrain Burrell and place him under arrest, a crowd began throwing rocks at officers. Deputies, with the assistance of Thibodaux Police Department officers, were able to disperse the crowd and Burrell was taken into custody. Burrell is charged with resisting arrest violently (R.S. 14:108.2), battery on a police officer (14:34.2), inciting a riot (R.S. 14:329.2) and disturbing the peace by cursing (R.S. 14:103A2). Alonzo Sierra: Around 2:30 AM on Saturday, July 17th deputies observed a pickup truck travelling on East 23rd Street in Larose toward Hwy 308 and it kept running off the road into yards. Deputies initiated a traffic stop, pulling over Alonzo Sierra (W/M, DOB 9/11/1986, 248 West 59th Street, Cut Off). Sierra performed poorly on standard field sobriety tests and was arrested for DWI. Subsequently, he blew a .120gBAC. Sierra had identified himself as “Ernesto” Sierra, but fingerprints revealed the deception.
