| Help Needed in Solving Case of Injured Woman - Sgt. Lesley Hill |
| |
Sheriff Craig Webre is asking for the public’s help in finding the person or persons responsible for injuring a Cut Off woman who may end up losing her eye. On Sunday, July 18th, detectives were dispatched to a local hospital shortly before 6:00 PM following a hit and run and separate vehicle crash in the Alidore community.
From information gathered thus far, 31-year old Evadne Doucet of Cut Off had allowed a friend, “Joe” to drive to Raceland. As the pair traveled together down Williams Street, “Joe” allegedly drove Doucet’s car into a parked car. As “Joe” got out inspecting the damage, Doucet attempted to drive away but she says “Joe” grabbed the keys out of the ignition.
As Doucet reached for a second set of keys and again attempted to drive away, she says an unidentified black male of medium build approached her, striking her in the left side of the face. Doucet sped off, turned on Brocato, then attempted to get around an SUV and wrecked her car in a ditch. It is unclear what Doucet was hit with but the damage to her eye is severe.
Anyone with information that can help detectives find out more about this case is asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-800-743-7433. You don’t have to give your name and could be eligible for a cash reward up to $1,000.
