Aretha Thompson:
A special “delivery” Wednesday, July 21st ended in the arrest of a Thibodaux woman. The Lafourche Parish Drug Task Force was contacted by Terrebonne Parish Narcotics officers on Wednesday in reference to a package they had intercepted containing more than 950 prescription pills including Xanax, Hydrocodone and Lortab. The street value of the pharmacy-in-a-box is believed to be approximately $4,750. Lafourche, Terrebonne and the Thibodaux Police Department worked together to deliver the package to Aretha Thompson (B/F, DOB 6/8/1974, 1607 B Cardinal Drive in Thibodaux). When Thompson accepted the package, agents moved in to arrest her charging her with possession with the intent to distribute schedule III (R.S. 40:968 A1) and schedule IV drugs (R.S. 40:969 A1). Thompson remains in the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in lieu of $100,000 bond as set by Judge John Leblanc.
Davin Roberts:
Shortly after midnight Wednesday, July 21st agents with the Drug Task Force were patrolling the southern end of the parish and initiated a traffic stop of a white SUV. As the vehicle came to a stop, agents also observed several objects fly out of the passenger side window and land in a ditch. Agents took passenger Davin Roberts (B/M, DOB 8/29/1982, 13849 East Main, Cut Off) into custody. Agents then located two plastic baggies containing a total of approximately 18 grams of suspected crack cocaine in the ditch nearby. The crack cocaine is believed to have a street value of $1,800. Agents also seized a small quantity of suspected marijuana and a marijuana cigarette on Roberts during a pat down for officer safety. Davin was charged with possession of marijuana (R.S. 40:966-C1), possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine (R.S. 40:967-A1) and obstruction of justice (R.S. 14:130.1). He was also booked on an outstanding arrest warrant for failing to show up for sentencing on previous drug charges. Roberts remains in the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in lieu of $115,000 bond.
