LPSO Arrests of Note - Sgt. Lesley Hill Peters

LPSO Arrests of NoteRonnie Anderson:

On Sunday, February 28, 2010, an LPSO deputy was travelling northbound on Forty Arpent Road when a vehicle driven by Ronnie Anderson (B/M, DOB 3/10/1978, 482 Paula Drive, Thibodaux) crossed into the deputy’s lane of traffic forcing the deputy to brake hard. The deputy gave chase and Anderson finally stopped the vehicle in front of 109 N. 11th Street. Anderson refused to follow directions given to him by the deputy to stay in his vehicle and not approach the deputy. Anderson was finally detained (handcuffed) in order to stop his apparent aggression. As the deputy was filling out a citation, a Thibodaux police officer stopped by to make sure everything was alright and told the deputy there was an outstanding warrant for Anderson’s arrest. Anderson had also identified himself to the deputy as “Rodney” Anderson instead of “Ronnie”. During the verification of the warrant, the deputy also came to realize Anderson’s driver’s license was expired. Anderson was placed under arrest. During the booking process at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center, Anderson began resisting the officer and threatened the deputy saying “when I get out, I’m going to kill you”. Anderson only stopped resisting after he was pepper sprayed. Anderson is charged with careless operation of a vehicle (R.S. 32:58), flight from an officer (R.S. 14:108.B.1.A), having an expired drivers license (R.S. 32:412), resisting an officer by refusing to properly identify yourself (R.S. 14:108.B.1.C) and public intimidation (R.S. 14:122). Judge Hugh Larose set his bond at $6,100.

Oris Lee:

Around 7:30 PM Sunday evening, deputies were called to 21426 Hwy 1, Golden Meadow in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, a 51-year old female told Deputies Oris Lee (W/M, DOB 11/23/1963, 117 W. 58th St, Cut Off) had hit her in the head with a hammer then took a baseball bat and hit her on the leg and thigh. The woman said the attack came out of nowhere as the two had not been fighting. Lee claimed the woman had fallen out of bed and hit her head and that she was jealous that he was seeing other women. Lee is charged with domestic abuse battery (R.S. 14:35.3) and remains in jail on $10,000 bond as set by Judge John Leblanc.
