Arrests of Note: July 15-16, 2010Richard Triggs:

Shortly before 2:00 AM Friday, July 16th deputies were responded to reports that a man had broken down a door at a residence on Charles Avenue in Raceland. As they arrived on scene, Richard Triggs (B/M, DOB 8/28/1981, 122 Charles Avenue, Raceland), wearing only boxer shorts and a t-shirt, took off running. Deputies learned Triggs had two outstanding warrants for his arrest on theft and resisting arrest charges. As deputies attempted to gain control of the situation, Triggs continued to resist and at one point attempted to bite one of the officers. Triggs was tased and finally submitted. He was checked out at a local hospital as was one of the deputies who suffered a mild shoulder separation in the scuffle. Both were treated and released. Triggs is charged with resisting arrest violently (R.S. 14:108.2), contempt of court for one theft charge and as a fugitive from Terrebonne Parish on theft and resisting arrest charges. His bond is set at $15,000 but he is being held until transferred to the custody of Terrebonne Parish.

Brandon Pitre:

Around 12:30 AM on Thursday, July 15th, deputies were dispatched to Tauzin Lane where a man was reportedly beating a pregnant woman. When officers arrived they found Brandon Pitre (W/M, DOB 2/19/1986, Tauzin Lane, Chackbay) standing in a neighbors yard. Pitre was detained during the investigation. Deputies then spoke to a 20-year old female who indicated that Pitre had struck her in the face with a ceramic tile. The victim is 7-months pregnant. This is the third time in four years that Pitre has been arrested on domestic abuse charges. Pitre is charged with aggravated second degree battery (R.S. 14:34.7), domestic abuse battery of a pregnant victim (R.S. 14:35.3K) and simple battery (R.S. 14:35). He remains in the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on $5,100 bond set by Judge Hugh Larose.

Note: Jorge Gonzales was arrested by LPSO on July 13th for driving left of center and operating a vehicle while being in this country illegally. A check of criminal history also revealed Gonzales is wanted in Waco, Texas on charges of indecency with a child. He is being held for Waco and immigration authorities in the Lafourche Parish Detention Center.
