At around 2:15 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, Lafourche Parish Drug Task Force Agents from the Lafourche Parish Sheriffs Office and the Thibodaux Police Department initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle after the vehicle was observed following an agents vehicle too closely as well as crossing the center line. Agents identified the driver as Bosco Tran (A/M, D.O.B. 06/20/87) of 1161 Artesa Drive in Marrero. While Tran had no active warrants, agents learned he had an extensive criminal history. When agents asked if there were any illegal items in his vehicle, he said there were. A K-9 Unit arrived on scene to assist and alerted to the possible presence of narcotics inside the vehicle. Agents conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered a plastic bag containing approximately one pound of marijuana. Tran was placed under arrest and transported to the Detention Center where he was booked with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, following too closely, and improper lane usage. He is being held on $10,100 bond as set by Judge LeBlanc.
