Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre reported two people have been arrested after agents discovered a methamphetamine lab at a Lockport residence on Tuesday. Kyle Trosclair (W/M, D.O.B. 01/24/84) of 128 Rubaiyat Drive in Thibodaux and Shelby Howard (W/F, D.O.B. 12/29/93) of 126 Myrtle Drive in Lockport have been arrested in connection with the investigation.
On Tuesday, April 9, deputies responded to Howards Lockport residence in reference to the possible manufacture of methamphetamine. Upon arrival, deputies discovered several items commonly used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine. Agents with the Lafourche Parish Drug Task Force responded to the scene and began their investigation. They learned Shelby Howard had purchased items for Kyle Trosclair to be used to manufacture methamphetamine. Two bottles were also located inside the residence and were believed to contain byproducts of methamphetamine creation.
The Lafourche Parish Combined Meth Lab Response Team arrived on scene and began processing the suspected labs found inside the home. The team found further evidence of methamphetamine manufacturing at the residence while processing the home. Howard was arrested and booked with creation/operation of a clandestine lab and is being held in lieu of $5,000 bond as set by Judge Jerome J. Barbera III. Meanwhile, agents obtained a warrant for Trosclairs arrest for the same charge.
On Wednesday, while in the Thibodaux area investigating an unrelated case, agents noticed Trosclair fueling his vehicle at a gas station. Agents closed in on Trosclair and he was taken into custody on the active warrant without incident. Trosclair told agents he had drugs and paraphernalia inside his truck, and a K-9 unit, which was already on scene, alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics inside the vehicle. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, agents located the paraphernalia as well as a partially-smoked marijuana cigar and methamphetamine. Trosclair was transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center and was booked as per the warrant for creation/operation of a clandestine lab. He was additionally booked with possession of marijuana (2nd offense), methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. He is being held in lieu of $70,250 as set by Judge Barbera.
