Suspect in Multiple Thefts & Burglaries Arrested, Found with Crack Cocaine

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre reported the arrest of a Galliano man who has been charged with stealing items from several locations and is a suspect in other crimes. Tony Clarke Jr. (W/M, D.O.B. 01/08/93) of 120 Orange Street was arrested Monday afternoon after being found with crack cocaine in his possession.

Detectives had been looking for Clarke in order to speak with him about recent thefts and burglaries in South Lafourche. While traveling in the Cut Off area on Monday afternoon, detectives noticed Clarke traveling on a bicycle along LA Highway 3235. Upon making contact with Clarke, detectives found him to have a small amount of suspected crack cocaine in his possession. Later, during questioning, Clarke admitted to committing a burglary and two other thefts. He was arrested and booked with possession of crack cocaine, simple burglary, felony theft, and theft under $500. He is currently being held in lieu of $36,000 bond as set by Ashly Bruce Simpson.

Investigators believe Clarke may be involved in other crimes committed in the southern area of the parish.
