Two Brothers Found with Drugs, Stolen Guns, and over $25,000 Cash

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced the arrest of two brothers from Houma who were found with drugs, stolen firearms, and over $25,000 in cash at a motel in Central Lafourche Parish. David Voclain (W/M, D.O.B. 02/16/79) and Chad Voclain (W/M, D.O.B. 07/31/84), both of 2020 Slatter Street in Houma, were arrested Sunday evening after an anonymous tip led deputies to the motel.

At around 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, deputies received an anonymous tip about two men selling drugs at a motel located in the central part of Lafourche Parish. Deputies responded to the motel and knocked on the door to a room where they made contact with David Voclain who allowed the deputy to enter the room. Upon entering the room, deputies also made contact with Voclain’s brother, Chad Volcain, and detected an odor suspected to be burnt marijuana. David Voclain admitted to having smoked marijuana earlier that evening and handed a partially burnt marijuana cigarette over to deputies.

Agents of the Lafourche Parish Drug Task Force also arrived on scene. David Voclain voluntarily consented to a search of the motel room wherein deputies seized a total of $25,575 in cash, two stolen handguns, 42 grams of suspected heroin, 10.3 grams of suspected marijuana, and 95 various pills including Hydrocodone, Soma (Carisoprodol) and Xanax (Alprazolam). David Voclain told deputies the heroin belonged to him, while Chad Volcain admitted to possession of the firearms, and deputies learned he had a prior felony conviction in 2012 for drug distribution.

Both men were placed under arrest and transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux. David Voclain was booked with Possession with Intent to Distribute Heroin, and Possession of Marijuana, Hydrocodone, Alprazolam, and Carisoprodol, and he is being held in lieu of $16,000 bond as set by Judge Walter I. Lanier III. Chad Voclain was booked with two counts of Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Possession of Marijuana. He is being held in lieu of $51,000 bond as set by Judge Lanier.
