One Arrested, One Sought for Multiple Thefts at a Kraemer Residence

Sheriff Craig Webre announced the arrest of Michael Bourgeois (age 43) of Gibson on Tuesday in relation to thefts at a Kraemer residence over several months. Johnny Vedros Jr. (age 54) of Thibodaux is also wanted in connection to the incident.

A resident living along LA Highway 307 in Kraemer had reported several items stolen from his residence on multiple occasions between the dates of March 16 and October 1, 2015. The stolen items included boat hulls, engines, tools, and scrap metal. The combined value of the stolen items was over $7,500. Through investigation and the use of surveillance cameras, detectives identified Michael Bourgeois and Johnny Vedros Jr. as suspects in the thefts.

On Tuesday, October 13, detectives met with Bourgeois in relation to the incident and admitted to his role in the crimes. He was arrested and booked into the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux on four counts of Felony Theft and one count of Simple Burglary. He was released Tuesday afternoon after posting $7,000 bond.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Johnny Vedros Jr. for the same charges.
