Detectives Seek to Identify Two Suspects Connected to a Thibodaux Armed Robbery

Sheriff Craig Webre announced detectives are currently investigating an armed robbery which occurred Monday afternoon at a Thibodaux residence.

At around 2:45 p.m. on Monday, February 8, deputies made contact with a man who advised he had just been robbed at his Glenn Street home in Thibodaux. According to the victim, an unidentified male subject showed up at his residence asking about him. He exited the residence and spoke to the man but ended the conversation telling the man he did not know him. The unidentified man retreated back to his car, a black Chevrolet Malibu. According to the victim, the man  proceeded back toward him with a handgun and forced the victim back into the residence. The victim attempted to grab the firearm, and a struggle ensued. During the struggle, a single round was fired from the gun, striking the ceiling of the victim’s residence. The man eventually regained control of the firearm, and he sprayed the victim with chemical spray before leaving the residence with a cell phone and a wallet containing a debit card. Through investigation, detectives discovered the stolen debit card was used a short time later at a Donaldsonville casino. Detectives obtained surveillance video showing a female suspect entering the casino and using the stolen card at an ATM, and she was accompanied by a male subject who walked in afterward.
