Sheriff Craig Webre announced Matthew McAllister (age 26) of Cut Off was arrested shortly after being located in Slidell on Thursday, February 18. During the course of the missing person investigation, detectives learned McAllister was driving a sport-utility vehicle without permission. On Thursday, February 18, that SUV was located at a Slidell hotel where McAllister had previously stayed. Officers with the Slidell Police Department then made contact with McAllister at the hotel. Meanwhile, detectives with the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office obtained a warrant for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, and McAllister was taken into custody by Slidell Police. He is currently awaiting transfer to Lafourche Parish. Bond was set at $20,000 via the warrant.
