Sheriff Craig Webre announced the arrest of David Bland (age 45) of Raceland on Saturday, April 16. During the early morning hours of Saturday, April 16, deputies responded to Brocato Lane to investigate an incident wherein a male subject had allegedly struck a female subject with a stick. Upon arrival, deputies encountered David Bland and a female, later identified as the victim, and the two appeared to be arguing. Deputies separated the two parties and saw a wound on the victim’s back consistent with being struck by an object. Following an investigation into the incident, Bland was arrested and transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux. After arriving at the Detention Center, Bland was found to have drug paraphernalia in his possession. He was booked with Aggravated Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Taking Contraband to a Penal Institution. His bond is set at $14,050.
