UPDATE: Suspect in 2015 Chackbay Bar Burglary Arrested in Thibodaux

Sheriff Craig Webre announced detectives have identified Adam Tregre (age 33) of Chackbay as the suspect wanted in connection to an October 2015 bar burglary in Chackbay. He is currently incarcerated in St. James Parish.

During the early morning hours of Wednesday, October 21, a bar located along LA Highway 20 in Chackbay was burglarized. Several machines, including poker machines, an ATM, a juke box and others, had been burglarized. Investigators learned a male subject gained entry through an adjacent office and then proceeded into the bar through an air intake vent. The subject disabled several security cameras, but detectives were able to obtain some video footage of the suspect which was previously released to the public. Several thousand dollars were stolen during the burglary.

Through investigation, detectives developed Adam Tregre as a suspect. He already had an outstanding warrant for burglary in St. James Parish. Then on Monday, September 19, Tregre was located and arrested by the Thibodaux Police Department and turned over to authorities in St. James Parish. Detectives questioned Tregre about the Chackbay burglary, and following questioning, they obtained a warrant for his arrest.

Tregre remains incarcerated at the St. James Parish jail where he was booked as a fugitive of Lafourche Parish. Upon his release, he will be transferred to Lafourche Parish and booked with one count of Simple Burglary. His bond will be set at $10,000 per the warrant.
