Sheriff Craig Webre announced the arrest of Robert Girvin (age 19) of Thibodaux on September 28, 2016. During the early morning hours of Wednesday, September 28, deputies responded to a complaint involving a missing juvenile in Thibodaux. While speaking with the complainant, deputies observed the juvenile exit a nearby residence. Through investigation, deputies learned the juvenile had been at the residence with Robert Girvin, and the two had engaged in sexual intercourse. Deputies made contact with Girvin, and during questioning, he admitted to having sex with the juvenile. Due to the age difference being greater than four years, Girvin was arrested for Felony Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile and transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux where he was booked accordingly. He was released Wednesday afternoon after posting $2,500 bond.
