Houma Man Wanted for Stabbing Thibodaux Woman

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced a Houma man is wanted for stabbing a Thibodaux woman in an incident that occurred on Tuesday, September 18. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Joseph Hawkins, 25, of Houma.

At 7:45 a.m. on Tuesday, deputies responded to Carol Street in Thibodaux after receiving a call that Hawkins had stabbed a woman and fled the scene. Officers from Thibodaux Police Department and the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office also responded to the area to assist in searching for the suspect. Through investigation, detectives learned Hawkins had an argument with the woman at her residence, and as he was preparing to leave the residence, he allegedly stabbed the woman with a knife in the abdomen and fled the scene. The victim was transported to University Medical Center in New Orleans and is scheduled to be released later today.

Hawkins is wanted for Aggravated Second Degree Battery in the incident. His last known address was an apartment on Arlington Avenue in Houma.
