Man Sought for Stealing from a Donation Box at a Raceland Church

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced a reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of a man who stole money from a donation box at a Raceland church.

On Thursday, January 24, deputies responded to St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church in Raceland in reference to a burglary. Deputies learned an unknown male subject had walked into the church, forced open a donation box, and taken money from inside. The suspect had also stolen a component of one of the security cameras. The cameras captured images of the suspect at around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, January 23. The suspect appears to be a white male dressed in a red shirt with white shoes and shorts with an American flag print.

Anyone who can identify the suspect is asked to submit a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers Bayou Region by phone at 1-800-743-7433 or online at www.crimestoppersbr.org. Tips can also be submitted using the P3 Tips app on your mobile device. Tipsters could be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 in cash if the information leads to an arrest.
