Detectives Investigating Monday Night Shooting in Marydale

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced detectives are investigating a shooting incident which occurred Monday night in the Marydale community in Thibodaux.

Shortly after 10 p.m. on Monday, March 5, deputies received a call of a shooting in the Marydale community, and a man was at the hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg. Troopers from Louisiana State Police and officers from Thibodaux Police responded to the area to assist. Deputies learned the shooting took place on Park Avenue and secured the scene.

Meanwhile, through investigation, detectives learned the victim was walking up to a family member’s residence when an unknown subject shot at him. Through further investigation, it appeared the round struck another object prior to striking the victim, resulting in the victim being hit by shrapnel from the round.

Detectives are asking for the public’s help in solving this crime.
