Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced the arrest of Danny Chauvin, 39, of Des Allemands following a shooting incident on Saturday. No one was injured in the shooting.
At around 11:55 p.m. on August 23, 2025, deputies received a call about shots having been fired outside a residence in the 3800 block of U.S. Highway 90 in Des Allemands. LPSO deputies responded to the scene along with deputies from the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office and Louisiana State Police. When they arrived, they learned a man, later identified as Chauvin, had fired several shots at a residence, entered the residence without permission and barricaded himself inside. After approximately one hour, Chauvin exited the residence and surrendered to deputies.
Through investigation, detectives learned Chauvin had discharged a firearm outside his home, causing occupants at a neighboring residence to enter their home for safety. Chauvin then entered the neighbor’s residence without permission, confronted a woman while armed with a handgun and made threatening remarks to her. He also discharged the firearm twice while inside the residence, resulting in adults and children living at the residence to leave the house.
Chauvin was booked into the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex in Thibodaux on charges of home invasion and illegal use of a weapon or dangerous instrumentalities. Bail is set at $150,000.
This investigation is continuing.
